Early winter storms begin darken the skies around Longyearbyen. The search begins for those special moments when the light breaks through. Just before the sun set on an Autumn afternoon, I saw the light illuminating this beautiful mountain face. The dramatic shapes of the mountains are a reminder of the intense glacial activity throughout history and how little remains.
